Timber Garden Sheds Australia

August 2026
We are often asked where one of our cabins can be viewed. Over the years, we have delivered and built cabins all along the Eastern Seaboard. However, most are on private land and are not readily available for viewing. Some owners are happy to show their cabins, but that is a favour we cannot always ask for.
We are pleased to confirm that our smallest log cabin garden shed, the SABINE 4, is now on display in Coffs Harbour.
It is located at Bonville Nursery on Pine Creek Road. They are open seven days a week, and anyone is welcome to pop in and have a look.
Ground Preparations
Bonville Nursery owners Chloe and Zach prepared the perfect site for the SABINE 4 display cabin, close to the nursery entrance. As the smallest cabin in our range, it only needed a three-meter-square space.
Before our arrival, Zach leveled the site and covered it with gravel. We evenly placed 300mm-square pavers to support the treated pine base frame. One broke, but it still did the job.
We transported the cabin using our small box trailer. The size and weight of the pallet also mean this model can be collected directly from our Mullumbimby warehouse.
Building up the Walls...
Base frames for cabins made from 28mm solid wall logs are often supplied with cross timbers only. To create an enclosed frame, we added two outer hardwood pieces.
We recommend installing the tongue-and-groove pine floorboards after the build is complete to protect them from scratches during construction.
The door is placed after the first five or so layers of logs are installed. Installing it later is possible, but not recommended.
We also added a window to this display cabin, allowing more daylight and helping with cross ventilation. Additional windows were listed at $495 for our 28mm cabins.
Roof Beams and Roofing
Cabins produced in the Baltic States often come with bitumen shingles or similar roof coverings. For our Australian conditions, we supply Australian-made COLORBOND roofing in your chosen colour, with options for metal top-hat battens and R1.3 insulation.
The level of roof insulation needed depends on how you plan to use the cabin. If you will spend many hours inside, insulation is a good idea. It is less important if the cabin is used only for storage.
Our SABINE 4 has also been dubbed the ideal size for a cubby house—just ask your kids!
Now to the oiling
Our cabins arrive in plain, untreated timber, preserving the natural pine character.
Raw timber needs protection from the environment. To preserve its natural appearance, we recommend CUTEK wood preservative.
If you prefer to paint your cabin, apply a suitable undercoat or primer with stain-blocking properties first. This helps prevent tannin from the timber knots showing through the finishing coats.
Landscaping and Finishing Touches
After we left, Chloe and Zach completed the finishing touches.
The floorboards were oiled on the underside before installation. We also supplied an IKEA IVAR shelf, which is not normally included with the cabin. With a few decorative pieces, the cabin looks great.
The surrounding landscaping looks a treat. Pavers and a doormat at the entrance help keep dirt out. Pebbles or artificial grass around the cabin also help reduce rainwater splashing onto the lower walls.
If you are in the Coffs Harbour area, feel free to visit the display cabin.
