Yet another excellent use for our most popular garden shed log cabin model "SAM10" - here positioned close to the pool. The actual location within the backyard was a bit of a discussion point. As always when there is a bit of space in a suburban backyard, the 10sqm "SAM10" could be installed in several different locations. In the end the "Pool House" option won, plus a small deck out the front.
Steel Foundations
After many years of cabin installations we are more and more leaning towards using a "C" purlin steel base for all our cabin models. While adding a bit to the overall costs of the cabin build, a steel base provides the ideal base for your brand new log cabin garden shed and pays for itself many times over the lifespan of your cabin!
There are a few distinct advantages over any other base - firstly your cabin will be raised above the ground, which will provide you with a visual inspection point for pesky termite trails, your cabin will be "high and dry", and can also be very easily leveled due to the adjustable stump tops we are using.
Many hands make light work
For this build we were lucky to secure the services of a new helper. The difference it made to have THREE guys building the cabin instead of two, or indeed, only ONE person, was amazing.
The build start had to be delayed by one day due to the wet weather anyway, so we only had three days instead of four. While this was of concern in the early stages of the build, it became obvious that we would manage just fine, despite being back to two on the third last day.
We were also impressed with the quality of the timber our suppliers used for our latest cabin delivery. Timber quality varies of course, being a naturally grown material.
Another VERY happy log cabin owner
In February 2024 we finally got around to visit the site, and the sun was out so we were able to take some photos. And there it is - a brand new "pool cabin", complete with a small deck out the front, fully protected by two coats of CUTEK oil, lighting installed and so on.
We always enjoy seeing the cabins we supply (and often also build, like this one) in action. There are so many uses for these beautiful solid timber log garden sheds - way too many to mention here.
